The Cardano Foundation has partnered with the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) to explore the use of blockchain, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technologies across Brazilian sports. The agreement establishes a three-year roadmap covering digital identities and athlete certifications, fan engagement, equipment tracking, and transparency in sports governance and funding programmes. The initiative aims to help athletes, coaches and sports federations improve record management, operational efficiency and information security. Digital identity tools could provide verifiable credentials for athletes and coaches, while blockchain-based equipment records may support more reliable tracking and auditing. The partners have already held an initial executive workshop, with institutional pilot projects expected in the coming months. COB representatives said the collaboration aims to strengthen trust and support digital transformation in sports administration. For Cardano, the partnership expands its presence in Brazil beyond financial applications, focusing on identity, governance, education and sports management. No specific sports, athletes or pilot launch dates have been announced.
