Companies across retail, logistics, and manufacturing are using AI to automate customer service, improve decision-making, and process data more efficiently, helping them address structural challenges such as labor shortages and workforce limitations. Small and mid-sized firms report gains in productivity, faster operations, and better customer experiences. However, the report warns that AI’s benefits depend heavily on data quality and responsible use. While AI can process large volumes of information quickly, it cannot replace human judgment or contextual understanding. Poor inputs or overreliance on automated outputs can lead to flawed decisions. Experts also highlight ongoing concerns around talent shortages, weak governance, and workforce disruption.
