Zimbabwe National Artificial Intelligence Strategy was officially launched in March 2026 as a five-year national plan to integrate artificial intelligence into Zimbabwe’s economy, governance, and public services. The strategy is aligned with Vision 2030 and the African Union’s continental digital transformation agenda, aiming to position Zimbabwe as a “technology producer” rather than just a consumer. At its core, the strategy treats AI as a tool for inclusive national development and economic sovereignty, focusing on sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, education, finance, and public administration. It emphasizes building local capacity through talent development, national data infrastructure, and AI research ecosystems, while embedding ethical principles grounded in Ubuntu and public accountability.
