Turkmenistan is strengthening its digital future through expanded cooperation with China, focusing on artificial intelligence, smart cities, and advanced telecommunications. The Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan held negotiations with major Chinese technology firms including Huawei and ZTE, alongside other partners such as China Information and Communication Technologies Group Corporation, Shanghai DTSpace Futech Auto Tech, and Xinjiang Poplar Cable Manufacturing. Discussions focused on building AI research centers, deploying Internet of Things systems, and developing smart city infrastructure, as well as exploring neural networks and quantum technology applications. Officials, including Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Annayev and Communications Minister Hajymyrat Hudaygulyyev, emphasized that AI is a strategic priority for improving governance and advancing sectors like healthcare, education, and industry. The partnership reflects Turkmenistan’s broader push to accelerate digital transformation and integrate cutting-edge technologies into national development planning.
