Türkiye is accelerating its ambition to become one of the world’s 10 largest economies through a new investment program that places artificial intelligence at the center of its development model. According to the Artificial Intelligence Policies Association, the initiative marks a shift from traditional industrial incentives toward a digital and data-driven economy. The program emphasizes expanding AI adoption across sectors, boosting software and engineering exports, and simplifying startup creation through digital company frameworks. It also aims to reduce bureaucratic barriers while strengthening financing mechanisms to support entrepreneurship and attract foreign investment. Experts note that AI could contribute trillions of dollars to the global economy in the coming decade, and Türkiye’s strategy seeks to capture a share of this growth through improved data infrastructure, 5G expansion, and increased R&D investment. A key element of the plan includes developing innovation hubs such as Terminal Istanbul, designed to connect startups, investors, and technology firms into a unified ecosystem for rapid scaling and innovation.
