Singapore’s People’s Association will introduce affordable, beginner-friendly artificial intelligence courses at community clubs from November 2026, helping seniors, homemakers and other residents become more familiar with emerging technologies. The initiative, called AI @ Your Neighbourhood, is designed for people who may have limited experience with artificial intelligence and want to learn how to use it in their daily lives. The programme will initially include 25 courses covering everyday digital skills, photography, photo enhancement and the use of artificial intelligence to simplify travel planning. The courses will cost S10persession,witha30percentdiscountreducingthefeetoS7 between November 2026 and October 2027. The People’s Association aims to reach 10,000 residents through the initiative. It is also working with AI Singapore, Micron Technology and NTUC LearningHub to provide workshops and expand access to practical technology education. Deputy Chairman Edwin Tong said artificial intelligence could help community workers and volunteers reduce administrative tasks and spend more time connecting with residents. The association is already using technology to support procurement, vendor selection and payment processing. These efforts aim to make artificial intelligence more accessible while helping residents develop confidence in using digital tools safely and responsibly.
