Senegal participated in the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, joining delegations from over 100 countries to discuss the future of artificial intelligence and global governance frameworks. Representing the country, the Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs highlighted Senegal’s commitment to developing human-centered, ethical, and accountable AI systems. The country also reaffirmed its role in the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence, where it has been an African pioneer member since 2023. Officials emphasized Senegal’s early adoption of a national AI strategy and its intention to actively contribute to shaping international AI rules and standards. On the sidelines of the summit, discussions focused on strengthening digital skills, improving public sector capacity, and enhancing cooperation on digital infrastructure across Africa. Senegal’s participation reflects its broader goal of positioning itself as an active voice in global technology governance while advancing national digital transformation priorities and supporting innovation-driven development.
