Sanofi is expanding its artificial intelligence presence in Toronto with a $294-million investment to grow its AI Centre of Excellence, strengthening its role in drug discovery and pharmaceutical innovation. The expansion is expected to create around 50 new jobs in areas such as machine learning, data science, and AI-driven healthcare research by 2028. Supported in part by the Government of Ontario through Invest Ontario, the initiative builds on Sanofi’s broader strategy to integrate advanced analytics into its research and development processes. The Toronto AI hub focuses on using AI tools to speed up clinical trials, improve data analysis, and support the development of new therapies. Company officials say the decision reflects Toronto’s strong AI talent pool and established life sciences ecosystem. Sanofi already operates major vaccine manufacturing facilities in the city and employs more than 2,000 people across Canada. The latest investment reinforces its long-term commitment to combining biotechnology with artificial intelligence to improve healthcare innovation and efficiency at a global scale.
