GITEX Africa 2026 in Marrakech underscored Morocco’s rapid emergence as a digital and innovation hub, as leading telecom and technology companies announced a series of strategic partnerships. Key players such as Inwi and Orange Maroc joined forces with global firms including China Mobile International and Ericsson to accelerate the deployment of advanced technologies like 5G and artificial intelligence. One of the standout initiatives is the rollout of Morocco’s first private 5G network for industrial use in Nador, aimed at enabling automation and smart manufacturing. In addition, a dedicated 5G innovation lab will support enterprises in testing and adopting next-generation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs. The event also marked the launch of the Nexus AI Factory, a major data center project near Casablanca designed to strengthen AI infrastructure using renewable energy. Together, these developments reflect Morocco’s ambition to lead digital transformation across the African continent.
