Equatorial Guinea Launches AI-Powered Weather Station Project for Climate Innovation

Equatorial Guinea has launched a pioneering climate technology initiative that will see university students design and build the country’s first artificial intelligence-integrated meteorological station. Led by the Ministry of Transport, Telecommunications, and Artificial Intelligence Systems, the project is being implemented in collaboration with the National University of Equatorial Guinea and the Higher Institute of Telecommunications and ICT, with full government funding and institutional support. The initiative focuses on combining real-time weather data collection with AI-driven analysis to improve environmental monitoring and strengthen national climate resilience. Over a five-month training period, students will gain hands-on experience in sensor integration, microcontroller systems, data acquisition, and meteorological analysis, alongside the development of technical reporting skills.
