AI search systems are more likely to reference Nigel Farage than other UK political leaders according to a study by AI analytics firm Peec AI which tested models including ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews across 5,000 political prompts generating over 280,000 data points. The research found that Reform UK appeared in a large share of AI-generated responses with Nigel Farage surfacing more frequently than Keir Starmer across topics such as immigration and local elections. Visibility patterns varied by issue with Labour Party more prominent in healthcare related answers while the Liberal Democrats appeared inconsistently. Researchers warned that AI systems increasingly rely on high-frequency online content from sources like BBC Wikipedia and social media platforms such as Facebook raising concerns about LLM grooming and manipulation through repeated messaging by political actors. Experts say AI tools are becoming a new battleground for political influence in the UK political landscape.
