Ethiopia has approved a $324.3 million financing package to support national development projects, including the creation of the Medemer Artificial Intelligence University. The new institution will focus on artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, and data science, aiming to train a new generation of researchers and technology professionals. The decision, endorsed during the 53rd Council of Ministers meeting, is part of Ethiopia’s broader push to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen innovation capacity across the economy.
