Eswatini is moving forward with the development of its National Data Policy through a high-level workshop in Mbabane, supported by Smart Africa. The initiative brought together government officials, policymakers, and stakeholders to design a comprehensive framework for managing and regulating national data systems in line with broader digital transformation goals. The workshop, opened by Minister Savannah Maziya, is part of a wider European Union–African Union data governance programme implemented through development cooperation partners. Discussions focused on key areas such as data governance, data localisation, and the economic value of data in supporting innovation and digital economies.
