Angola’s government has emphasized the growing role of artificial intelligence in supporting national development and economic expansion. Speaking at the Angola Digital Forum in Luanda, officials from the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technology, and Media highlighted how AI is being integrated into key sectors such as mining, planning, and public services. Projects like TEC Minas are already using AI to map mineral resources and improve operational efficiency. The government also recently inaugurated a national data center to strengthen digital infrastructure and ensure secure data storage for both public and private institutions. According to officials, AI will increasingly support academic research, policy development, and citizen safety. At the same time, a proposed law is under review to regulate AI use responsibly, ensuring a balanced environment for innovation while protecting national interests and promoting sustainable digital transformation.
