The award highlights growing global attention to African-led innovation in fintech and AI-driven problem-solving. The project focuses on using AI to assess creditworthiness for individuals and small businesses who are often excluded from traditional banking systems. By analysing alternative data such as mobile money transactions, spending behaviour, and informal income patterns, the system can generate more accurate financial profiles for people without formal credit histories.
