The Authority for Infocommunications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam, in collaboration with the AI Governance and Ethics Working Group, has released the second edition of its national “Guide on Artificial Intelligence Governance and Ethics” to promote responsible AI development and use across the country. The updated framework incorporates new guidance on generative AI risks, including issues such as misinformation, data misuse, and system bias, while offering practical examples of how organizations can apply ethical principles in real-world deployments. The revision follows a public consultation process involving government bodies, industry stakeholders, academic institutions, and technology communities, ensuring that multiple perspectives shaped the final recommendations. Alongside the governance guide, authorities also introduced a complementary resource titled “Guide on Responsible Use of Generative AI,” aimed at helping the public use AI tools more safely and effectively.
