Cambodia is strengthening its artificial intelligence and digital capacity through new collaboration with France, focusing on research, education, and workforce development. The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications recently met with representatives from Grenoble Alpes University to discuss joint initiatives in AI, data science, cybersecurity, and space-related technologies. A key proposal includes the development of a National AI and Data Science Research Centre in Cambodia to enhance local innovation and research capabilities. The partnership also builds on ongoing academic exchange programs with the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology, enabling Cambodian students to pursue advanced degrees abroad. Officials emphasized that such cooperation will help strengthen human resource development in emerging technologies and support Cambodia’s long-term digital transformation goals. By combining international expertise with local capacity building, the initiative aims to accelerate AI adoption while improving education and research infrastructure in the country’s growing digital ecosystem.
