The American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) has inaugurated a state-of-the-art AI supercomputing lab at its permanent campus, marking a major step in advancing artificial intelligence research and education in Bangladesh. The facility features advanced systems powered by NVIDIA DGX Spark infrastructure, delivering up to 1 petaflop of computing performance. It enables students and researchers to train and experiment with large-scale AI models, including large language models and diffusion systems. The lab is designed to promote hands-on innovation in AI engineering while supporting the development of “Sovereign AI” tailored to the Bengali language and local context. It will also facilitate research in healthcare, agriculture, smart cities, and the textile industry. University leaders stated that the initiative aims to strengthen Bangladesh’s AI ecosystem, promote ethical AI development, and prepare future innovators with world-class computational resources for emerging global challenges. Officials said the lab will also encourage industry collaboration and support long-term digital transformation goals in Bangladesh and beyond region.
