The upcoming facility is expected to become operational within a few months, depending on equipment procurement and infrastructure readiness. Once active, it will provide access to quantum computing resources, specialized training programs, and stronger links between academia and industry. Officials behind the project say the goal is to build a talent pipeline in emerging technologies and encourage research in both AI and quantum systems. By combining education, infrastructure, and industry collaboration, the centre aims to position Dharwad as a growing node in India’s deep-tech ecosystem and support the country’s long-term ambitions in next-generation computing technologies.
