Amazon and Anthropic Expand Strategic AI Partnership with Major Investment and Compute Commitment

Amazon and Anthropic have significantly expanded their strategic partnership to accelerate progress in artificial intelligence. Anthropic will use up to 5 gigawatts of Amazon’s Trainium chips to train and run its advanced Claude AI models, while also committing to spend over $100 billion on AWS infrastructure over the next decade. This includes Trainium and Graviton chips as well as large-scale compute resources like Project Rainier, one of the world’s biggest AI clusters. Amazon is also investing $5 billion in Anthropic now, with up to $20 billion more planned based on future milestones. The collaboration deepens integration by making Claude models more accessible through AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock and a new Claude Platform on AWS, simplifying access for developers. Both companies aim to boost AI performance, lower costs, and expand global availability. The partnership is already supporting over 100,000 customers and is being used in real-world applications across healthcare, customer service, and software development.
