Ghana to roll out national AI strategy on April 24 — $250 million AI centre approved

Ghana is set to roll out its national Artificial Intelligence strategy on April 24, 2026, following Cabinet approval, in a major push to accelerate digital transformation and innovation across key sectors. As part of the plan, the government has approved a $250 million investment to establish a dedicated AI centre focused on research, development, and innovation. According to the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, the strategy is designed to expand AI adoption in areas such as public service delivery, agriculture, healthcare, and financial inclusion. The initiative aims to improve productivity, support local innovation, and position Ghana as a leading AI hub in Africa.
