Malaysia has introduced the MY-AI Standards platform as part of its national strategy to guide safe, ethical, and responsible artificial intelligence adoption. Launched on 10 March 2026, the platform consolidates more than 80 international AI standards, primarily from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), into a single national reference system to support organisations across sectors. Developed through collaboration between the National AI Office, CyberSecurity Malaysia, and the Department of Standards Malaysia, the platform is designed as a “trust infrastructure” rather than just an information portal. It aims to help government agencies, businesses, SMEs, and academic institutions apply global AI standards in a practical and consistent way, ensuring alignment with safety, transparency, and ethical principles. The initiative supports Malaysia’s broader goal of becoming an AI Nation by 2030 under its national AI action plan. Authorities expect measurable progress within 12 months, focusing on standards development, regulatory compliance, and future legislation. Officials emphasize that strong governance is essential to ensure AI innovation contributes to a secure and trustworthy digital ecosystem while supporting long-term economic growth.
