Libya’s Almadar Aljadid Deploys AI Chatbot in Arabic, English and Libyan Dialect

Libyan telecom operator Almadar Aljadid has partnered with Egypt-based AI developer WideBot to launch a conversational AI chatbot designed to improve customer service across Messenger and web platforms. The AI assistant will interact with users in Arabic, English, and the Libyan dialect, offering personalised responses to enhance customer experience and support the company’s subscriber growth strategy. Almadar’s CEO, Bassam Tunis, said the initiative reflects the company’s goal of delivering more innovative services and strengthening its position in Libya and the wider North African telecom market. The deployment comes as Almadar expands its 3G and 4G coverage across the country, making AI-driven customer engagement increasingly important for its more than 3.4 million subscribers. The move also aligns with a broader regional trend in which telecom operators are adopting AI tools to automate customer support and improve efficiency, following similar initiatives by companies such as MTN and Vodacom across Africa.
