Guinea has strengthened its digital transformation efforts through a new partnership between the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy, the Ministry of Information and Communication, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The collaboration, discussed during a meeting on April 15, 2026, between Minister Mourana Soumah and UNDP Resident Representative Anthony Ohemeng-Boamah, aims to advance the country’s digital economy by expanding artificial intelligence capabilities and promoting digital inclusion. The agreement is expected to be formalised through a project document that will guide implementation, with key priorities including the creation of technology hubs across Guinea and the introduction of AI training programmes to build local skills and support innovation ecosystems. The initiative aligns with Guinea’s broader long-term vision of achieving a strong digital transformation by 2035, reflecting a wider trend among African countries to partner with international organisations in developing digital infrastructure and technological capacity.
