Datec (Fiji) Pte Limited has officially launched the Fiji Tech Summit 2026, marking its fifth year as a key platform for regional collaboration on technology and digital resilience. Held under the theme “Bringing the Pacific Together,” the summit aims to address the growing impact of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity threats, and emerging technologies across Pacific nations. Organisers emphasise that rapid AI advancement is not only driving innovation but also increasing pressure on infrastructure, skills, and supply chains in smaller economies. The event will focus on responsible AI adoption, data protection, workforce readiness, and strengthening governance frameworks to manage rising digital risks. Cybersecurity will be a major priority, particularly as AI-enabled threats become more complex. The summit is expected to attract over 350 delegates and more than 25 global technology vendors, providing a space for knowledge sharing and regional cooperation. Leaders say the initiative reflects a broader push to build collective digital resilience and ensure technology supports sustainable development across the Pacific.
