Luxembourg is accelerating its national artificial intelligence strategy through the Luxembourg AI Factory, a centralized “one-stop shop” designed to help companies, startups, researchers, and public institutions adopt AI technologies in a secure and sovereign way. A central pillar of the strategy is the upcoming MeluXina-AI supercomputer, expected to launch by the end of 2026, which will provide national AI computing capacity for developing and deploying large-scale AI solutions. Officials say the AI Factory is intended not only to speed up adoption across the economy but also to strengthen Europe’s broader push for “sovereign AI,” where countries maintain greater control over data, infrastructure, and regulatory compliance instead of relying entirely on foreign technology providers.
